3. Aluminum mold development (extrusion / turning molds) plus mold trial and revision: 25‑40 working days (major bottleneck of the whole project)
4. Small‑batch pilot production validation: 7‑14 working days
5. Formal mass production: 30‑45 working days
Total project timeline from project initiation to bulk delivery: **90‑150 working days**.
Complex models (titanium alloy, special spectrum, high‑reliability IP68 rating, with certifications) may extend the cycle to 180 working days.
## Key Factors Affecting Lead Time
1. Number of revisions: Each round of repeated sample modification adds 7‑15 working days. Freezing BOM and drawings in advance saves substantial time.
2. Material lead time: Stock shortages of custom LEDs, lenses, special‑purpose ICs and sealing components will cause delays.
3. Certifications: CE, RoHS, explosion‑proof and other certifications add an extra 20‑40 working days.
4. Material selection: Lead‑time ranking: titanium alloy > stainless steel > aluminum alloy. Titanium alloy requires much longer CNC machining and anodizing cycles.
